Sweet Acre, the outsider of five, cut out the early running from Kilkerley and Cheap Popularity, an order which was maintained for the first half mile. Kilkerley then took over and quickened the pace, from Ballyeaston and Cheap Popularity. Four furlongs from home Ballyeaston surged to the front but was headed within a furlong by Cheap Popularity who began to draw clear, winning by an easy 12 lengths, with just half a length separating Kilkerley and Ballyeaston. |
